We have signed up to complete Fit4Class.
Here is some information on the initiative taken from the Athletics Ireland website:
Fit4Class is Athletics Ireland’s 10 week teacher led programme that introduces junior infants to fourth class to athletics in a fun, engaging and non-competitive environment. It focuses on the use of games to develop fitness whilst enhancing agility, balance and co-ordination.
We have completed Week 1 and are excited to continue with lots more games over the coming weeks. We are tracking our progress on our Class Tracker.
Stay tuned to find out how we get on!
We were lucky enough to get a visit from a real-life scientist called Niamh. She told us to pretend that we were all working in a sweet factory and that we were going to carry out an experiment to test the strength of the jellies we were making.
We used our scientific skills of predicting, questioning, observing, investigating, experimenting and recording. We investigated how much force was needed to break the jelly! Have a look at us in action!
We have been learning all about Helen of Troy in History, we loved the story so much that we decided to make our very own Trojan Horses. We are using newspaper and tape to make the body of the horse. We will then use papier mache and paint to finish off our horses. Here is what we have made so far. Come back next week to see the finished pieces!
